Empowering Players,
One Dagger at a Time

Dagger (dag. ger) - "A made shot, sometimes a three-pointer, in a pivotal part of the game; e.g. a shot that silences a rowdy crowd, puts the team ahead in the closing moments of a game, discourages the opposing team, or kills their confidence."

Our vision

We believe that anyone interested in playing basketball should experience the unequivocal feeling that their contribution(s) make a difference. This feeling, like anything else that involves going outside their comfort zone, requires confidence, but so many players lack this because they are either intimidated by other players who are more skilled or simply do not believe in themselves enough to make a move or take the shot. It is our duty as a basketball skills development team to provide the knowledge and resources to help build a foundation for your player. We focus on "sharpening their tools", from ball handling and form shooting; to proper footwork and accountability; to better execution and decision-making... skills that will translate into their success on the court and give your player the confidence to take the shot, especially the necessary ones that can silence the doubters!

Brian Carmona (Founder/Owner)

Coach Brian's love of the game began in 5th grade on the middle school playground. This love only grew stronger because of the shared bond with his father and, of course, the 90's Chicago Bulls! As a player, he relished every time he was on the court, and like anyone else, could play for hours on end, anywhere, anytime. Basketball took on a whole new meaning when his own boys took an interest in this sport, and so began his coaching journey. He has been a volunteer coach for Chicago Public School (CPS) at Hawthorne Scholastic Academy since 2019; has coached for the PBA 13U; has also coached various men's leagues throughout Chicago; and has founded Dagger Development in early 2024. He is a licensed USA Basketball Gold Coach and working on additional certifications.
